Wells Fargo Lead Control Management Officer - Indirect Auto-lending in CHANDLER, Arizona

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer to support our Indirect Auto-lending, Underwriting and Funding groups.

This position is sitting within the Chief Operating Office's Control Management group, will partner with executive management to define and deliver initiatives and programs across front lines and build relationships with a wide variety of senior leaders and enterprise partners across all business groups to help develop and maintain a strong control environment leading to the early identification and sustainable mitigation of risk.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact.

  • Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area.

  • Monitor complex business specific programs, and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area

  • Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls.

  • Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies

  • Lead Control Management project or virtual teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong Experience with Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)

  • Strong experience with Issues Management, including root cause analysis, design of controls and managing corrective actions.

  • Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts and policies across risk types (regulatory, financial crimes, credit, operational, etc.)

  • Knowledge and understanding of lending and financial services: regulations, compliance, policies, process, and procedures including US consumer laws.

  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence (verbal, written and interpersonal); proven ability to concisely articulate complex concepts in a clear manner.

  • Ability to identify root cause of identified issues and evaluate potential mitigation plans.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Banking industry analytics experience including developing effective key risk indicators (KRI) and effective monitoring and reporting process.

  • Demonstrated capability to confidently raise issues, escalate early, and engage in constructive effective credible challenge independently.

  • Ability to assess and determine when to raise concerns and escalate.

Job Expectations:

  • Hybrid work schedule. Must be able to work from one of the approved job posting locations three (3) days in office & two (2) days remote.
