Egan Company Safety Coordinator in Champlin, Minnesota

Join our team! Egan Company is seeking candidates for a Safety Coordinator position working from our Champlin, MN office. In this role, the Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the health and safety function for various jobsites and is an integral part of Egan's Safety team. Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Safety Coordinator include but are not limited to the following: Align and implement Egan Company Health and Safety programs and Loss Prevention initiatives. Communicate and collaborate with Egan Company staff with respect to Loss Prevention goals, objectives, and key performance indicators. Explore, research, and adapt new products, programs and/or technology that will further enhance the company's Loss Prevention performance. Engage regularly with field employees to assist and monitor loss prevention efforts. Develop field and trades personnel through coaching, feedback, and continuous training activities to assist in building the skills necessary to execute Loss Prevention strategies. Maintain regulatory compliance with all State and Federal regulations. Create and deliver training opportunities to all levels of employees. Visit jobsites and customer sites regularly; perform frequent job site evaluations, determine employee exposure(s) and institute acceptable work practices. Perform incident investigations, document and update Egan leadership team. Provide safety support for Rochester, MN and parts of Southern MN (approximately 50% of time spent in these areas) Serve as the on-site safety contact at customer sites with long-term projects, as part of a rotation with members of the safety team. Develop and foster relationships with project managers and other partners through performance of work. Champion Egan's Mission, Vision, and Values; lead by example. Position Requirements Two-year degree or equivalent experience in a related field. Bachelor's degree related to occupational safety and health preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to spend approximately 50% of time traveling to job sites and offices in Rochester, MN and parts of Southern Minnesota. Willingness to occasionally travel overnight and out of state. Qualifications Knowledge of the construction industry. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to navigate and resolve conflict effectively. Working Conditions Performance of duties will be in the office; visits to shop and job sites as needed. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Exposure to loud noise, dirt, and exposure to the elements. Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are to be expected on job sites.
