Chadron State College Head Softball Coach in Chadron, Nebraska
Job Title: Head Softball Coach
Nature of Work:The Head Softball Coach reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director and is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and administration of the women's softball program that align with the objective and missions of the athletic department and Chadron State College.
Examples of Work Performed Essential Duties: 1.Coach, develop, and teach student athletes Develop workouts, skill routines, practice/game plans Assess and evaluate skills and provide instruction to enhance skills of student athletes Attend all practices and games and have the ability to effectively coach the sport and skills of women's softball Provide the opportunity for student athletes to meet for a year-end review meeting Conduct exit interviews with graduating seniors
2.Recruit and retain competitive student athletes Develop a sports schedule Assist with registration of all student athletes Monitor academic progress of student athletes
3.Build and maintain campus and community relations to benefit the program Market and promote softball programs Participate in athletic department fundraising efforts
4.MaintainRMAC/NCAACompliance and fiscal/budgetary restrictions Comply allNCAARules and report any violations to the Athletics Director Comply with State fiscal policies
5.Program Administration Maintain confidentiality of records and information Effectively direct the search, hiring and supervision process for Coaching Assistant(s) Supervise travel arrangements and accommodations for the team Assume responsibilities for care of all equipment and facilities being used Formulate goals and objectives for the coming athletic season In emergency situations, assist with the home contest management of other sports
Secondary Duties: Be available to serve on various committees as needed Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field Experience coaching softball at any level Willingness to work varying hours including nights and weekends Extensive travel
Preferred Qualifications Collegiate level softball coaching experience.
Physical Demands The physical requirements for this position may include, but are not necessarily limited to, the ability to use a computer, calculator, telephone, keyboard, and/or various types of office equipment. Must be able to effectively communicate in verbal and written formats and satisfactorily perform the functions of this position. Some lifting of equipment may be required.
Other Requirements Successful background records and credit check, Valid driver's license, Satisfactory evaluation of driving record
