SAS Safety, a division of Bunzl, is seeking a Director of Sales. The Director of Sales is a key executive responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of the sales strategy, operations, and execution within the company. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Sales plays a critical role in driving the company's revenue growth and market expansion efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives.

  • Define sales targets and objectives in collaboration with senior management.

  • Implement and utilize sales analytics to drive decision-making and performance improvements.

  • Provide insights and data for revenue forecasting.

  • Use knowledge of sales pipelines, historical performance, and market trends to project future sales revenues accurately.

  • Propose and justify sales department budgetary needs ensuring efficient use of resources and budget allocation within the sales department. I.e.: personnel costs, sales operations expenses, travel and entertainment expenses, and any other costs directly related to achieving sales targets.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team.

  • Set clear sales team goals and monitor performance against targets.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork within the sales organization.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.

  • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies with market needs and product capabilities.

  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.

  • Adjust sales strategies as necessary to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate competitive threats.

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team and regularly assess performance metrics.

  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and reports to senior management.

  • Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop overall company strategy and contribute to business growth and profitability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field preferred.

  • Proven track record of success in senior sales leadership roles, preferably within safety and Industrial

  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans and results.

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales analytics and reporting.

  • Strong verbal, negotiating and communication skills–Able to have Fierce Conversations

  • Strong customer-centric, relationship and retention ability

  • Ability to foster teamwork with peers in all cross functional departments

  • Ability to travel as needed. We’ll need to take your talents on tour!

SAS California salary range:  170K -200K plus bonus eligibility based on experience, education and geographic location.
