CENTRAL VALLEY TOWN Maintenance / Water Operator in CENTRAL VALLEY, Utah
Performs maintenance and repair duties in the Water System. Provides meter service, installation and repair of water main. Performs meter reading and recording. Investigates unusual amounts of water usage for leaks, malfunctioning equipment and improper/illegal use.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
· Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
· Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts.
· Order and pick up materials and supplies.
· Ensure that all vehicles are cleaned, fueled and in proper working order
· Control and monitor inventory
· Implement safety policies and procedures for the department
· Receive and respond to reports of mechanical or maintenance issues.
· Operate backhoe and other equipment.
· Maintain water system certification and attend training as needed.
· Complete annual reports on the water system.
· Installation of new meters.
· Hook-up and remove meters.
· Check water tanks and chlorinators on a regular basis and take required water samples.
· Maintain and repair water lines.
· Order and purchase supplies needed for water systems.
· Check springs, wells and waterlines from spring to the tank.
· Check and maintain pumps at pump house.
· Inspect and maintain water valves.
· Inspect locks on water tanks on a regular basis.
· Maintain fence around spring and tank areas.
· Keep the area around springs, well and tanks free from weeds, litter and other debris.
· Check for leaks in the water system.
· As requested by Blue Stakes, mark location of water lines in the requested area.
· Shut water off as requested for non- payment.
· Operate snow removal equipment during the winter. Keep all the walkways clear.
· Mow the lawns, prune the bushes and trees, edge the walkways and give the grounds a manicured look
· Evaluate, repair and maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in the Community Center and Maintenance Building
· Communicate with Council about any work that requires outside expert assistance
· Coordinate work performed by outside vendors
· Perform cleaning activities such as Cleaning Community Center chairs twice a year. Clean Community Center stove. Wash windows and screens etc.
· Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.
· Do park upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.
· Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
· Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
· Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
· Take on special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary.
· Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on the lawn care equipment and tool Assist with 4th of July Activities
· In the event of an emergency Code Red 911 Reverse
· Maintain fire, carbon monoxide, smoke and other safety systems.
· Complete any other projects as requested by Mayor.
· Reports to Mayor.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED and one (1) year of paid full-time experience performing outdoor construction or maintenance with operation of heavy/light work trucks and equipment.
Candidates who are selected for appointment may be required to be fingerprinted, successfully complete a background investigation, employment verification and may be subject to a drug/alcohol test. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license to operate a vehicle in Utah. Must be willing to obtain Water Certification.
