Bayside Montessori Preschool is looking for a dedicated, hard-working, passionate about teaching & working with little children educator. The Lead Teacher will be in charge of a classroom of students, ages 12 months - 3 years old, & will work closely with an Assistant Teacher. We seek a professional, flexible, & creative candidate who understandss & loves Montessori philosophy & is able to deliver its principles to the children. Requirements: EEC Infant/Toddler Teacher Certificate Knowledge & experience planning & implementing the Montessori curriculum Genuine love & respect for children CORI check will be required before joining our team Willingness to undertake professional development Responsibilities: Develops Montessori-based lesson plans, selects books & learning activities, organizes shelves according to children?s developmental needs & interests, & recommends learning materials & topics that challenge & allow every student to develop to their fullest potential. Together with an Assistant Teacher creates a peaceful & harmonious learning environment through consistent procedures & effective discipline that establish & maintain high st&ards of classroom behavior. Makes regular observations, identifies student needs & cooperates with other professionals in addressing & helping students solve behavioral, social, or learning problems Maintains online attendance records; prepares progress reports as well as daily student reports for digital communication with parents/guardians. Communicates with parents/guardians through email, text, phone, & in-person conferences about student progress & behavior; serves as a positive advocate for school values & philosophy. Maintains professional competence through a variety of activities including self-selected & in-service professional development, faculty meetings, & curriculum-development programs. Provides & maintains a clean classroom environment & is able to keep the little children clean & at all times: changing diapers, wiping noses, changing dirty clothes when needed. Attends Staff Meetings & Professional Development. Ensures the classroom & staff are compliant with EEC regulations.
