Job Description
The Chief Of Staff, Executive Director Global QARA Strategic Projects position is two-fold. The first is to support the Chief Quality Officer (CQO) and the Quality Leadership Team (QLT) create the 5-, and 10-year vision and plans for the Quality and Regulatory functions. The second is to help investigate, analyze, and create holistic global plans to resolve current critical Regulatory and/or Quality compliance issues. After plans are created for each, this position will also be used as an operational role to help implement these plans.
Job Duties
Partner with leadership to develop key messaging aligned to the strategic direction for the organization.
Develop presentations for internal and external communications in conjunction with the Quality Leadership team. Communicate effectively and enhance overall global reporting on QA/RA to Executive Leadership.
Work with the QLT, help create the three-, five- and ten-year vision for the Quality and Regulatory functions on a global basis and create plans to ensure the visions are implemented.
Partner with leadership to identify future state capabilities to meet the organizational goals and plan to implement.
Be a trusted member of the CQO, representing in various forums while working with the QLT to help investigate, analyze, and determine if critical Regulatory or Quality compliance projects are on a holistic path to permanently resolve the issues.
Work with the QLT to develop strategic plans and ensure their successful implementation.
Act as a key strategist and advisor to the CQO; identify priorities, brainstorm, and identify solutions to challenges and ensure implementation.
Proactively identify risks and issues that could impact the successful execution of business objectives; Elevate risks and issues about which the CQO should be aware and frame/position ideas to resolve issues in order to mitigate business risks
Act as representative for the CQO in appropriate meetings to gather information, provide input and facilitate efficient decision making.
Provide support for project updates and communications e.g. emails, reports, memos. Develop presentations for internal and external communications in conjunction with the Quality Leadership team.
Communicate effectively and enhance overall global reporting on QARA to Executive Leadership.
Support the CQO in coordinating organizational procedures for optimized efficiency. Help define new operational strategies and optimized operating model.
Oversee plans to execute the long-term goals, align with key functional stakeholders outside of QA/RA to drive towards to a common goal.
Work with the QLT to help investigate, analyze, and determine if critical Regulatory or Quality compliance projects are on a holistic path to address root causes and prevent future occurrences.
Support the CQO in coordinating programs that drive optimization and efficiencies. Define, review, and refine new operational strategies and optimized operating model.
Ensure the operational aspects for CQO are executed: annual planning, budgets, resources, goal planning/tracking and status updates.
Proactively identify risks and issues that could impact the successful execution of business objectives; Elevate risks and issues for transparency and potential mitigation plans or options.
Effectively manage a team of direct reports at the Sr. Manager or Manager levels. Drive performance, employee engagement and cultivate a high performing group that is driven by innovation and takes initiative.
Job Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience directly managing a team at the Director or Executive Director level.
Experience in the development of executive-level presentations, including Board of Directors materials.
Certification and proven track record in Project and Program Management skills.
Experience in developing communication plans that translate leadership messages effectively to all aspects of the organization.
Experience in organizational change management, including interpersonal skills, intuition, agility, and integrity.
Strength in people management, including coaching and development of individuals to support their current role and career goals.
Business acumen and executive leadership to represent the CQO in various internal/external forums.
Experience working in or with global organizations across multiple (Americas, EMEA, Japan & Asia Pac) sites and functions.
Some domestic and international travel is required.
Preferred:
Experience working in the healthcare or medical device industry.
Experience working in either the Quality or Regulatory functions.
Strong project management skills.

Ability to network throughout the company.
