Salary$23.25 - $34.88 HourlyLocation80112, COJob TypeFull-timeDepartmentCommunity Resources DepartmentJob Number05040DescriptionThe Career Services Advisor/Workforce Specialist is responsible forproviding quality services to job seeking customers in an American Job Centerenvironment, which may include but is not limited to the provision ofone-on-one, virtual and over the phone employment services, workshopfacilitation, job search navigation, the provision of assessments,career guidance, and labor market information. Duties100% direct contact with various types of workforce center customers toascertain needs and navigate to appropriate staff and/or programs.Respond to basic Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits questions from UIclaimants.Assist job seekers in making informed career decisions based on local andregional economic demand by providing timely labor market job-driveninformation.Develop and maintain knowledge of programs with and without eligibilityrequirements, system applications, social media websites, program webinterface, and technical equipment to assist customers in their job searchactivities.Provide coverage and service delivery, in-person and virtually, in allareas within Career Services at all A/D Works locations as needed andnecessaryDemonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills withcustomers, colleagues, and partners.Provide one-on-one guidance in person, remotely, and via phone ofpre-employment skills and job coaching to customers regarding work history,education, interests, abilities and other relevant variables affectingemployability. Track and follow up on the customer's progress.Interpret program requirements, benefits and other information to customers.Assist customers in using resource area, labor market information, resumepreparation, conduct mock interviews, and other basic job search activities.Create and facilitate job readiness workshops virtually and in-person.Complete requisite data entry in Connecting Colorado and other applicabledatabases as required.Perform other duties as assigned.Skills, Abilities and Competencies:Initiative - must accurately identify internal and external customer needs.Maintains high level of productivity and self-direction.Knowledge/Technical Skills - must have adequate keyboarding,spelling/grammar and intermediate computer literacy. Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling,Human Services or related fieldOrAA, or two year certificate AND Two (2) years of experience working witheconomically, culturally or socially disadvantaged clients in the context ofjob counseling, vocational education, vocational or pre-employmentassessment, Workforce Development, vocational rehabilitation or related field.OrHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent AND Two (2) years of specializedacademic training in one of the above fields (60 academic credit hours or acombination of academic credit hours and specialized training equaling 200classroom hours)(Any equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy
