In this highly visible, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients. The Sterile Processing Supervisor manages employees in the daily operation of the Central Service area in order to meet department objectives.
Your Job Requirements:
• High school graduate with some college, Associates Degree preferred
• Prefer Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Certified Surgical Technologist, or, RN with strong operating room background
• Will consider strong Central Service background or surgical background with completion of certification
• All relevant examinations must be passed within the first year of employment
Your Job Responsibilities:
• Assist in interviewing, hiring, evaluating, counseling or termination of employee.
• Assumes responsibility in absence of Manager and/or Director.
• Assures accurate Time and Attendance Documentation.
• Coordinates all Changes on Unit Par Stock both Patient Charge and Non-Patient Charge Items.
• Maintains count sheets and instrument identification binders.
• Supervises daily activities of employees in instrument prep and pack, decontamination and case cart preparation.
• Supports surgeons, physicians, and staff in surgery, labor and delivery, and emergency department.
• Responds to questions from hospital and clinic units.
• Train new employees in sterilization techniques, care and handling of instrumentation, case cart and specialty cart preparation.
• Works with Operating Room Manager, and SPD Manager to assure instruments and equipment are repaired and replaced in a timely manner.
Methodist Celina Medical Center is located on a 40+ acre campus just off of Dallas Parkway, and will serve as the community’s first full-service hospital, serving Celina and surrounding communities. The four-story medical center will open with 51 beds, with plans for expansion, and will feature a range of services including cardiology, women’s services, orthopedics, robotic surgery, and more. The campus will also include a 40,000-square-foot medical office building.
