WAYPOINT SERVICES Food Service Assistant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
POSITION SUMMARY
The Food Service Assistant will assist with the preparation and serving of food, cleaning dishes and the kitchen area.
This position at located at KidsPoint C Street.
$15/hr
Monday-Friday, 7am - 3:30pm
PRINICIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare the Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks for the child care center/program daily
Clean working surfaces daily (preparation services, tables and steam table)
Wash and sanitize dishes, preparation and serving equipment
Clean stove and refrigerator as necessary
Clean kitchen cupboards and storage areas as necessary
Do the kitchen laundry
Support the Food Service Director with food inventory
Inform the Food Service Director of situations related to kitchen duties assigned
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the total work environment

Maintain client and program confidentiality as defined in the Waypoint Confidentiality Policy

Follow Waypoint Crisis Communication Plan in crisis situations
Attend and participate in Waypoint departmental, interdepartmental and staff meetings as directed
Maintain scheduled work hours and notify your immediate supervisor personally of absences
Support Waypoint events
Promote Waypoint team concept by being courteous and helpful to other employees and clients
Accurately maintain necessary forms and records and submit in a timely manner, especially Accident/Incident Report Forms
Complete time cards and/or employment records accurately and submit on time to supervisor
This position may require regular evening and weekend work hours; individual must be able to work flexible hours
Work with supervisor to develop a professional growth plan
Attend in-service trainings and work to increase skills in field
Perform all other duties as assigned by Waypoint

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, GED or in progress work toward same
Two years of food service experience preferred
ServSafe certified or willingness to obtain ServSafe certification
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Receive a negative report on the Waypoint/DHS Non-Law Enforcement Records Check
