Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird seeks anAssistant Attorney Generalfor the Health and Human Services Section to represent the State of Iowa’s Child Support Services (CSS) in Cedar Rapids.
Description:
If selected for this position, you will appear before the Iowa District Court in the 6th Judicial District in actions to establish, modify or enforce support; review and present to the district court administrative support orders issued by CSS; and furnish legal advice to CSS on a variety of matters. While some in-person court attendance is required, successful candidate may be given the option of remote work or being housed in a CSS office other than Cedar Rapids.
Candidates must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle a large caseload while working within a team environment. Previous experience with the Iowa Child Support Guidelines or family law cases is preferred. This position requires a license, or the ability to obtain a license, to practice law in Iowa. The Office will also consider applicants who are awaiting results of or have applied to take the Iowa Bar Exam.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited school of law.
