Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking to hire a highly motivated, customer-obsessed professional to provide hands-on support to our Data Center Infrastructure Operations team across the Hong Kong Cluster.

As a Datacenter Security Specialist Intern (DSS Intern), you will support the Data Center Physical Security Team with the implementation of AWS’s security policies and procedures at our AWS Data Center(s). You will also be responsible for coordinating physical security operations, testing and conducting audit reviews of the Physical Security Program, provide support to the Contract Guard Force, contractors and all stakeholders within the Data Center. You will possess a willingness to learn new skills and build relationships with internal and external partners to maintain and enhance the safety and security standards of our Data Center operations.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate the day-to-day Security activities for your assigned Data Center(s) under the guidance of an experienced manager

Assess vendor compliance, based on the established work order, track service deliverables and escalate corrective actions to a senior team member as needed.

Provide support to all vendors within the data center

Conduct inspections, audits and reviews in your area of responsibility and ensure compliance with AWS security standards and policies.

Lead the media security requirements within the Data Center

Participate in regular meetings with vendors, data center operations and other partner teams to accomplish operational consistency.

Effectively communicate with partner teams when providing awareness of security policies and procedures.

Troubleshooting Security Devices in conjunction with the local Security System Integrator

Key job responsibilities

As a DSS Intern, your key responsibilities are:

Provide a safe and secure environment for our people, assets and customer data.

Physical Security of our Data center (DC) sites and protecting the integrity of all Red Medias.

Security access control of our DC sites

Responding to security incidents

Writing reports on security incidents, system anomalies, and other security-related matters.

Testing and maintaining security systems, such as alarms, security devices, and cameras.

Training employees on data center security procedures.

Identifying and assessing potential security risks to the data center.

Developing and implementing plans to mitigate security risks.

Promoting security awareness among employees and visitors.

Basic Qualifications

• In pursuit of or holds a Diploma or equivalent professional experience in security or related fields; i.e., compliance, logistics, transportation, facilities among others

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Excel and Word.

• Proficient English verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of access control and video surveillance software applications (eg. LENEL or C-cure).

• Experience in using data and metrics to improve processes and/or customer satisfaction

• Ability to write script and programming.
