Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Cassopolis, Michigan

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This is a maintenance technician role in an aluminum extrusion environment. You will be responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance, including preventive maintenance (PMs), reactive maintenance, and facilities maintenance. The facility houses aluminum extrusion machines, CNCs, brake presses, lasers, and powder coating machines. A typical day involves participating in a passover meeting and performing reactive maintenance to ensure continuous production. Responsibilities include fixing various components of extrusion machines such as 3-phase 480v motors, servo and AC/DC motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, extruders, VFDs, and gear boxes. PMs will involve basic tasks like greasing bearings and tightening bolts. All machines are operated on PLCs, and experience with die casting machines or plastic injection molding presses is beneficial.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Cassopolis, Michigan.

Work Environment

Industrial manufacturing environment. Expect to work a fair amount of overtime. Initial shifts are 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, starting with 8-10 hour days. Working towards implementing an on-call program. Major PM programs occur twice a year (typically July and December). Wear jeans and steel-toe boots. Location options are 1503 Pierina Drive, Elkhart, IN or 5111 Pine Creek CT. Shift options include 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) and 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
