A Typical Day

The S oftware Architect will assess the needs and challenges of a client and formulate the technical roadmap and technology solution that will support their business strategies and goals. As the Software Architect , you will develop and manage relationships with internal and external technology partners to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with quality.

The Software Architect will:

  • Communicate and collaborate with product managers and technology teams to design and build secure, large-scale distributed event-based systems in AWS.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with product managers, architects. technical leads, and business stakeholders for individual products and applications.

  • Drive solutions architecture design and ownership; articulate architecture solution options to the product owners and technology leadership.

  • Ensure technology decisions align with architecture standards and strategies.

  • Build consensus around architectural decisions to provide a stable, testable, secure and scalable product.

  • Provide technical guidance to peers on best practices, recommend appropriate technologies to use and provide coverage on the latest technology trends.

  • Work with dev-ops team to ensure a continuous delivery of the product using agile methodology

  • Lead and participate in code reviews.

  • Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.

What You’ll Bring

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with latest UI frameworks. (React, NextJS, Webpack, State Management)

  • Microservices built using AWS Native Serverless stack. (API Gateway, Kinesis, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, Lambda, AppSync, DynamoDB, and S3)

  • Experience building out modern CI/CD pipelines using AWS CDK and GitLab CI.

  • Experience developing and reviewing code written in modern programming languages.

  • Hands on experience in using Data Structures and algorithms, programming languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, Python etc.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, research, and work through complex problems.

  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and to present data concisely.

  • Must be attentive to detail, flexible, and able to work concurrently on multiple initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

  • FinTech or Mortgage Domain knowledge.

  • Experience in Agile/SCRUM using Jira.

  • Experience with feature flagging and service/api semantic versioning.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in developing and architecting enterprise-class, distributed software solutions.

  • 5+ years of AWS experience.

Compensation: Individual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:

  • Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role

  • Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role

  • Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role

Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
