Job Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking an experienced Fire protection engineer based in/around Cary, NC. The ideal candidate will be a licensed engineer (PE) and have experience as a fire protection and life safety code consultant. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated history of successfully managing their own client projects.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities will include the management and implementation of a wide variety of engineering design and consulting projects.

  • Plan and direct engineering activities for your own projects

  • Conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses

  • Design fire protection systems including fire alarm, sprinkler and special hazard systems

  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations

  • Be a key player in Business Development activities

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Five (5)+ years of experience that includes a combination of Code Consulting, Performance Based Design, and Fire Protection System Design.

  • Registered Professional Engineer preferred

  • Have excellent report writing and interpersonal skills

  • Should have the ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies and have good communication and negotiations skills

  • Can work independently and as part of a team, enjoy professional challenges and wants to be an integral part of the long-term growth of Jensen Hughes
