Consulting Member of Technical Staff– Cloud Chaos Engineering Team

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class compute, storage, networking, database, and security. These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives.

Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for architecting complex systems with high scalability, performance, and security. You will partner with other development teams responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing solutions within a distributed computing environment. You will provide technical leadership to a team of engineers. You will be responsible for taking the product through architecture and design reviews with senior technical leaders and architects in the company.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in a software development environment

  • Development experience in Java/Python, object oriented programming and scripting languages

  • Strong understanding of system concepts (networking, storage, compute)

  • Experience working with other cloud platform teams and accommodating requirements from those teams (compute, networking, security, storage).

  • Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences

  • Comfortable in a collaborative, agile development environment.

  • Good understanding of distributed computing and cloud-based platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity and understanding of Chaos Engineering principles.

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, BitBucket

  • Understanding of cross-functional platform feature areas in cloud platforms.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
