Insight Global Field Application Engineer in Carrollton, Texas

Job Description

Insight Global is sourcing for an Application Engineer for a large energy management and engineering automation company. This organization is responsible for automating technology and installing management systems within net new data centers across the globe. You will be responsible for the development, installation, and upgrading of the Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) at the data centers. This individual must have a strong background in configuring and commissioning management systems and 3rd party hardware, and must obtain electrical engineering experience. As data centers grow across the world, the team increasing their team's headcount to ensure they are meeting deliverables for the customers on time. In this position, you must be comfortable with consulting with customers to provide requirement updates on the engineering being conducted.

This position requires travel via plane and car about 40% of the year. You must obtain a passport and be willing to fly out of the country for customer site visits. The other 60% of the year you can work remotely from your home, working a standard 40 hours/week, preferably sitting in EST or CST hours. Skills and Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering background

     - 5-10+ years of professional experience commissioning Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)

     - Experience with SCADA systems/platforms

     - Construction commissioning experience

     - Knowledge of Modbus and ethernet, and troubleshooting experience

     - Comfortable meeting with clients to review engineering updates

     - Willing to travel and obtains a passport Commissioning Data Center experience
