       Job Summary:

  • Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.

  • Works with students in a supportive role under conditions determined by the instructiona; professional staff responsible for the students, but not as a substitute for or replacement of functions and duties of a teach as established in the Code.

  • Assists teachers or media center specialsts as determined by the building principal.

  • Assists with small group and/or individual instructional reinforcement, tutor individual students at teacher's request daily or as needed.

  • Assists teachers in maintaining discipline and follows through with prescribed classroom management programs daily.

  • Assists with preparation of instructional materials daily.

  • Assists teacher with reports and related clerical functions daily as needed.

  • Assists in teacher and/or adminstrator in supervision of students in loading/unloading buses, hallways, in gym, on playground and in individualized settings and as otherwise directed daily.

  • Assists in emergency situations (may require lifiting and carrying of students).

  • Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier auddio-visual equipment, etc.

  • Helps with integrations of technology as needed.

  • Participates in required professional development as designated byt the District.

  • Required to attend 5 professional development days throughout the school year: 2 at the beginning of the school year and 3 as determined by the District during the school year.

  • Demonstrated professionalism and maintains confidentiality.

  • Assumes other duties as requested by superintendent, building principal or designee.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalency diploma

  • Prior satisfactory work experience with children or youth preferred

  • Evidence of mental and emotional maturity and stability

  • Technology Skills

  • Such alternatives to the aboce qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable
