About The Role

We currently have an fantastic opportunity for a Product Design Engineer to join our team, based on-site in either in our Carole Park, QLD or Hendon SA offices. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for new product design, testing to relevant standards and implementation through to sales release.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of solid models of designs with supporting calculations and specifications, and supply drafting and engineering staff with such information to assist in the production of the product designed.

  • Production of detailed drawings and, if applicable, the development of tools, quantities, materials list and cost estimates as required.

  • Check designs, materials purchased and components for conformity with specifications. Ensure test programs for total product conformation are thoroughly conducted and appraised.

  • The preparation of technical details for sales inquiries, quotations, contract documentation, technical literature, or in the analysis of failures following customer complaints.

  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers concerning the design, installation or construction and commissioning of assigned work.

  • Existing product redesign and rationalisation, design patentable and/or design registrable products as appropriate and to Australian Standards.

  • Validation of product to support the Design Control process and creation of product manuals.

    About You

    We are looking for an experienced engineer who has experience in a manufacturing and design environment. You will possess the ability to work well in teams, act decisively and deliver consistently.

    Key competencies include:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience and successful performance in a previous Product Design Engineer role or similar

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering and strong mechanical aptitude

  • Adaptable and pragmatic approach to problem solving

  • Technical and analytical mindset with demonstrated experience in forecasting and planning

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels with an organisation
