Description:
General Trading is looking for an experienced Hilo / Reach Truck Mechanic. The reach truck mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of reach trucks and other warehouse equipment.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on reach trucks, forklifts, and related equipment.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is safe and compliant with industry standards.
Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
Order and replace faulty parts, ensuring timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
Communicate with operators and management regarding equipment performance and maintenance needs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics preferred.
At least 3 years’ experience in equipment repair, particularly with reach trucks, forklifts, or similar machinery.
Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair manuals.
Relevant certifications (e.g., forklift mechanic certification) may be advantageous.
Must be able to lift in excess of 60 pounds
