Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking aWaste Information Tracking System IDC Programmerto join our team to support our government customer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work with project participants to develop software requirements, translate those requirements into design documentation, and implement the design in code using Visual Basic.NET to produce finished software. The candidate is also expected to perform software maintenance and updates, write and execute Software Test Plans, and perform Software Quality Assurance actions during the Software Development Life Cycle. The candidate will interact with users providing application support and processing data change requests, as well as evaluating requests for changes to the software. This position also requires the ability to administer Microsoft SQL Server databases, including database creation, tuning, indexing and job scheduling.

Exempt Salary Grade (30-33)

  • Bachelor's Degree with two (2) years of related experience is required.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Software Quality Assurance in an NQA-1 environment is desired.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft ASP.Net with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming, using Visual Basic or C#.

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Infrastructure.

  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft SQL, including script writing, query tuning and index optimization.

  • Firm understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.

  • Strong knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript).

  • Previous WIPP experience is preferred.

Starting salary $78,719 per year *

*Base salary will be dependent upon candidate's background (i.e. education and experience)
