This position will be responsible for helping to manage all aspects of the revenue process including contract review, application of appropriate revenue guidance, and timely reporting on a weekly basis. The Senior Accountant will work with Sales and Operations teams to provide ongoing process improvements as it pertains to the revenue function. In addition, this position will be responsible for technical accounting research, accounting memo preparation, and review and improvement of controls related to AR and revenue. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the value of ongoing process improvement and thrive in an evolving, fast-paced environment.

  • Manage weekly, period-end and quarter-end close activities including preparation of revenue related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and flux analyses

  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly revenue financial reporting packages by preparing supporting analyses and schedules

  • Assist Sr. VP of Finance with annual budget as it relates to Revenue and Sales

  • Maintain deferred revenue schedules and reconciliations

  • Review non-standard customer contracts and deposits, identifying details affecting revenue and determining the appropriate revenue accounting

  • Assist in the design, scaling, and continued automation of revenue recogniztion process

  • Responsible for preparing reports for SOX compliance

  • Assist in ad-hoc analysis and projects for the revenue, accounting and tax teams

  • Prepare weekly Concur expense management reporting analysis and journal entry preparation

  • Assist the Finance team with ad hoc research, reporting and projects as it pertains to revenue and AR

  • Review daily cash receipts and bank reconciliations

  • Ad hoc projects as necessary

Work Experience Requirements

  • 5-7 years of related work experience

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, FASB pronouncements and EITF’s

  • Working knowledge of software revenue recognition and multiple element arrangements

  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively in order to meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify and explain complex accounting guidance to stakeholders

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a team-oriented culture and thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent knowledge and use of ERP/CRM systems

Education Requirements

  • BS in Accounting or related degree

  • CPA license a plus
