Actalent Manufacturing Service Engineer in Carlsbad, California

Job Title: Manufacturing Service EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Manufacturing Service Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will modify work instructions for accuracy and efficiency, collaborate with engineering to improve diagnostic and repair procedures, and mentor technicians. You will represent the department in Quality review, MRB, and Engineering Change Board meetings, provide technical support to internal and external customers, analyze return data to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions, and develop and implement repair processes to enhance quality and efficiency. Additionally, you will maintain department tooling and test fixtures and partner with Training & Development to deliver technical training and manage personnel training.

Responsibilities

  • Modify work instructions for accuracy and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with engineering to improve diagnostic and repair procedures.

  • Mentor technicians.

  • Represent the department in Quality review, MRB, and Engineering Change Board meetings.

  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.

  • Analyze return data to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Develop and implement repair processes to enhance quality and efficiency.

  • Maintain department tooling and test fixtures.

  • Partner with Training & Development to deliver technical training and manage personnel training.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with manufacturing engineering, process improvement, and SMT.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of process engineering, manufacturing engineering, pick & place, IPC 610, and J standard.

  • Proficiency in audio and digital electronics, including RF circuits and electronic test processes.

  • Proven training abilities.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Ability to read manufacturing drawings and schematics.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • GED required, B.S. Engineering preferred.

  • Experience with LEAN principles.

  • 2+ years of transferable experience.

Work Environment

1st Shift with a flexible start time. Casual to business casual dress code (No ripped jeans, graphic t-shirts, closed toed shoes). Beautiful facility in Carlsbad. Friendly company culture with opportunities to grow as an engineer within the company. Open to relocation and sponsorship depending on the right candidate. The company has strong tenure with many people working there for 10-30+ years.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66000.00 - $86000.00/yr.

Benefits package includes tuition reimbursement; 3 weeks paid vacation your first year, paid holidays, medical, vision and dental coverage, pet insurance, life insurance, and 401K contributions.

This is a fully onsite position in Carlsbad,CA.
