The Maintenance and Calibration Technician for Radiometer is responsible for performing a variety of work functions related to equipment and/or electronics repair, preventative maintenance, and calibration processes in a medical device manufacturing continuous production operation. They work with a sense of urgency to troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize operation downtime while ensuring adherence to production and process specifications. They are mindful of equipment life cycle and work tirelessly to sustainably solve problems, not just implement a “band aid” solution. The Maintenance and Calibration Technician works collaboratively with Production Operators to cultivate a deep understanding of their equipment wants and needs and to then develop solutions which meet these wants/needs. They perform timely calibrations and preventative maintenance, ensuring proper documentation of calibration and maintenance records is prepared and maintained in the Mpulse Software System. They are skilled in following Calibration and Maintenance Procedures, as well as Good Manufacturing Practice protocols. The Calibration and Maintenance Technician contacts vendors (internal and external) regarding calibration and/or repair activities and manages these vendors to job completion.
This position is part of the Maintenance Department located in Carlsbad, CA and will be full-time on-site. At Radiometer, our vision is to improve global healthcare with reliable, fast, and easy patient diagnoses.
As part of the Maintenance Team you will be responsible for:
Repairing, calibrating, and maintaining all production and process-related equipment in the Thick Film Substrate Value Stream
Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions to reduce equipment downtime
Performing scheduled Preventive Maintenance/Calibrations in a timely manner with adherence to good record keeping
The essential requirements of the job include:
Problem solving, observational, and active listening skills
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Associate’s degree in related field or 3+ years of relevant experience
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience:
Providing manufacturing support for assembly of medical devices or device consumables in a controlled environment
Balancing the need for fast repairs with the need to identify root cause then implement permanent solutions
Working independently with minimal technical supervision

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $30/hr-$35/hr. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
