Job Title: Forklift Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled forklift mechanic to cover all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) within our facilities. This mechanic will operate within a 40-50 mile radius of Carlisle and work on forklifts including Raymond, Big-Joe's, Crown's, Yale, and Komatsu models. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance and repairs using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Responsibilities
Analyze and diagnose equipment problems and breakdowns.
Recommend the correct service and repair actions to resolve equipment performance problems.
Make appropriate equipment repairs or modifications based on equipment analysis.
Perform scheduled equipment maintenance following company procedures and policies.
Document each service call and provide necessary paperwork.
Observe all safety procedures and ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste.
Maintain company service vehicles in a clean, orderly, and hazard-free manner, including performing regular maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
Secure and maintain service and parts inventory in the company service vehicle.
Provide well-maintained personal tools required to effectively perform equipment service duties.

Mechanical skills
Ability to safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks, and overhead cranes
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency
Minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment
Experience with repairing forklifts
Technical or mechanical training/certifications preferred
Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Above average communication skills
Ability to understand service and training manuals, including interpreting schematics and using electrical diagnostic instruments
Must have own tools such as sockets and wrenches

Work Environment
This hybrid road/facility role operates within a 50-mile radius. Our clean, climate-controlled, and well-kept warehouses are conducive to establishing relationships with other employees. The company provides larger tools, including a compressor for the vehicle, and a gas card/Enterprise card is available. Work hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30/4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekend or on-call shifts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00
