Peabody Bear Run Services LLC (0002) Senior Manager General Engineering - 2193 in Carlisle, Indiana

About the role: We are currently seeking a Sr. Manager of Engineering at our Bear Run Mine. Reporting to the General Manager, the Sr Manager Engineering is responsible for the execution and administration of all engineering services at the mine site. Duties will include:

  • Visibly support and champion Peabody's Missions and Values
  • Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System
  • Plan, direct and lead the work of direct report(s), crew(s) or team(s)
  • Develop strategy and long range mine planning to achieve targeted mine performance
  • Select, develop, and deploy engineering expertise to ensure projects are completed in accordance with budgetary and quality requirements
  • Develop engineering standards and policy within the organization
  • Develop and control departmental budgets and forecasts
  • Complete financial and operational analysis for potential capital expenditures
  • Manage the engineering function in a professional and profitable manner
  • Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned by the company

The lifestyle: This position is a full time dayshift role, working on a Monday-Friday roster out of our Bear Run Mine. About you:

  • B.S. in Mining, Civil Engineering or related field required
  • P.E. certification preferred
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • 10 years of experience managing an engineering function required
  • Minimum of 5, preference of 7, years supervisory experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to sit for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to use a computer and communicate effectively in various forms, including email and by phone
  • Must have the ability to review paper and electronic documents and complete computer entry of data from paper documents
  • Must be able to find, remove and return files to/from file cabinets and discuss issues by telephone and in person
  • Must be able to operate copier, fax machine, etc.
