About the Role:

The Senior Data Scientist will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficacy of our primary data entities. They will lead the team in developing innovative strategies for extracting knowledge and pinpointing specific data information. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer vision and natural language processing (NLP) and will be able to quickly grasp complex data resources to define models for legal and professional entities. Leadership skills are essential for guiding team members on data science modeling and deployment processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative strategies for extracting information from multiple modalities for entities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate computer vision and NLP solutions into our products.

  • Define ML algorithms and APIs to quickly evaluate alternatives.

  • Enhance computer vision and NLP techniques to connect data locked inside PDFs, images, and text files for extracting and associating data.

  • Manage, validate, and deploy custom models for extraction and machine learning.

  • Integrate models into existing extraction and processing pipelines.

  • Write queries and reports to validate extraction models and processing models.

  • Perform cost analysis to determine optimal models that balance model success with processing costs.

  • Document all models and provide APIs to quickly test and validate models and model changes.

  • Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical leadership in computer vision and NLP projects.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience using Machine Learning and associated python packages like scikit-learn, pandas, Numpy.

  • Proficiency training large-scale models in at least one modern deep learning engine such as PyTorch/Torch, Tensorflow, Keras.

  • Knowledge of computer vision libraries such as OpenCV for image processing, feature extraction, and object detection and Stanford NLP, spaCy, Gensim for text analysis.

  • Hands-on experience with deploying models on cloud technology such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), etc.

  • Proficient in Python programming.

  • Intimate familiarity with SQL query language.

  • Ability to provide guidance and training to engineers and other team members.

  • Ability to communicate and present to stakeholders, product team, and technical experts.

  • Documentation skills for processes and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or higher with a focus in NLP, Computer Vision and/or Machine Learning.

  • Experience specifically with AWS products.

  • Experience with annotation tools such as Prodigy, Label Studio, etc.

  • Experience in an Agile environment.
