Job Description: JRC is hiring a full-time Learning Center Director for its location at 2213 14th St. NE in Canton, OH.

General Statement of Duties:

The Learning Center Director provides visionary leadership that promotes, supports and provides quality child development, early education and family services, and is responsible to work with the Quality and Compliance Officer for achieving and maintaining a minimum Step Up to Quality Level 5 Center. This individual is responsible with overall operational management of the center in accordance with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) licensing rules as well as state and federal laws, regulations and procedures, Step Up to Quality, Head Start and Early Head Start performance standards to provide an educational, nurturing and safe environment for children, staff and parents. The Learning Center Director works in concert with the JRC Executive Management Team and the Early Education Administrative Team to ensure the center operates cohesively with the other JRC Learning Center location in an efficient and effective manner. In addition, the Learning Center Director works to fulfill the JRC mission and accomplish organizational strategic plans, goals and achieve stated outcomes.

Examples of Essential Work:

Has charge of the administrative affairs of the Learning Center, subject to regulations and policies made by the Board of Directors and funding and regulating agencies of Child Care Centers within the State of Ohio. The Learning Center Director is to coordinate licensing practices. The Learning Center Director is responsible for working with the Quality and Compliance Director in obtaining, renewing and maintaining childcare licensure by the State of Ohio and other necessary licensing jurisdictions. In the absence of formal regulations, the Learning Center Director is authorized to inform and advise the Chief Program Officer (CPO) if formal policies may need to be considered. The Learning Center Director reports to the organization's Chief Program Officer (CPO).

Responsible for center operations and ensuring programming/curriculum is in place, as well as planning family engagement events and activities.

Coordinates, maintains, operates and administers the Learning Center in a professional manner at all times. This includes the professional administration of contractual partnerships with outside agencies.

The Learning Center Director is to make regular verbal and written reports to the CPO or designee regarding progress toward goals, obstacles in the way of achieving outcomes and any other such information that is deemed of concern or that needs attention to achieve outcomes.

Prepares and submits for approval annual goals that set forth the vision, outcomes and tactical plans needed to accomplish them for the Learning Center. These goals should be written in collaboration with the CPO and other Management Team members, who will prepare their own goals and outcomes, as well as support staff supervisors who are involved in meeting them. These outcomes are to look ahead at least 12 months, more if the vision requires it. Attainment of outcomes is a part of the evaluative process.
