REPORTS TO:Assistant Director of Residential Services

RATE OF PAY:$21.54 - $23.59 per hour

SCHEDULE:Primarily Monday - Friday, dayshift.Some flexibility is required based on the needs of the agency and the individuals we support. Full-time, 37.5 scheduled hours weekly, plus participation in on-call rotation.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for directing and managing the daily operations of Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRAs) in compliance with service plans, agency policy, OPWDD regulations, Quality Assurance, and individual choice, as well as assisting in the administrative functions of managing the Residential Services Department.

EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety and needs of people receiving services are met.

  • Report all potential abuse and incidents immediately to the supervisor, Investigator, administration, or the Justice Center as appropriate.

  • Review and confirm completion of all recommendations as a result of an investigation.

  • Participate in a 24-hour on-call schedule for concerns and/or emergencies for staff outside regular business hours. (i.e., after 4 and weekends)

  • Communicate frequently with people receiving services, families, advocates, service providers, Care Managers, and other planning team members to ensure all people’s needs are being met.

  • Perform direct care in crisis staff shortages.

  1. Monitor and ensure compliance with all OPWDD billing standards.
  • Perform monthly reviews and assess staff action plans, IPOPs, and daily service notes.

  • Report units billed to Fiscal Intermediaries (FI) for individuals with Self-Direction services monthly or as FI requests.

  1. Manage vehicle use and ensure agency vehicles are in good repair.
  • Confirm submission of vehicle logs, gas receipts, and driver’s license ID log.

  • Submit work orders to the Facilities Department as necessary for needed vehicle repairs.

  1. Ensure each IRA is a safe, appropriate, and accessible living environment.
  • Confirm each IRA has appropriate adaptive and technological devices for people as needed.

  • Inspect locations monthly for safety and accessibility concerns.

  • Submit work/purchase orders for devices needed and/or repairs.

  1. Ensure all recommendations and findings from site visits and Quality Assurance audits are satisfied.
  • Collaborate with House Managers to implement and correct recommendations and findings.

  • Create and submit work orders and update processes as needed to correct deficiencies.

  1. Manage and supervise House Managers and other department staff as assigned.
  • Monitor and approve monthly staff schedules, ensuring appropriate time off between shifts, appropriate days off, and evaluating overtime.

  • Monitor and ensure all staff are scheduled and attend training to meet agency and regulatory compliance.

  • Interview and monitor staff training to ensure appropriate care and services, adequate staffing, and shift coverage of all residential operations.

  • Monitor staff performance through evaluations, developmental plans, and progressive discipline.

  1. Monitor and ensure compliance with all agency processes.
  • Review and confirm the accuracy of electronic financial ledgers and behavior support data.

  • Review and confirm compliance with regulatory requirements for continued funding and certification of OPWDD programs.

  • Participate in program budget development and meetings and committees as requested.

  1. Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in human services or a related fieldandone year of experience in the MR/DD field arerequired.

  • QIDP statusrequired.

  • One year of supervisory experience isrequired.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and computer skills.

  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with others.

  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with issues.

  • Reliable personal vehicle for business use.

  • NYS Driver’s License and acceptable motor vehicle abstract to meet agency insurability standards.

  • Medium work; ability to lift, carry, and transfer 50 lbs. (Occasional ); ability to lift and support individuals with and without help.

  • Physical strength to subdue an individual to prevent their injury or personal injury.

  • Ability to operate personal and Agency vehicles.

  • Ability to sit for long periods.

  • Ability to tolerate extensive exposure to computer monitor/screen.

  • Ability to tolerate extensive use of computer keyboard.
