A Principal PCB Design Drafting Technician job is available with one of our top defense clients. In this role you will perform detailed design and documentation of mechanical components or subsystems, by producing two-dimensional (2D) or three-dimensional (3D) CAD work product output for fabrication and assembly. To be considered for this role, you will have an Associate's degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Due to the nature of the work performed in this facility, US citizenship is required.
Principal PCB Design Drafting Technician Job Duties:
Perform detailed design and documentation of mechanical components or subsystems, by producing two-dimensional (2D) or three-dimensional (3D) CAD work product output for fabrication and assembly.
Determining scale, inserting necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning along with preparing specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations.
Prepare complete production detail drawings and contribute design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
Distinct knowledge of material requirements, fabrication techniques, and manufacturability concepts.
Experienced in the use of current strategic CAD tools; Cadence OrCAD or Cadence Allegro is strongly desired.
Design and layout high-density multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) using industry-standard CAD tools.
Solid understanding of simple mechanical stress; structural, thermal and tolerance analysis.
