EQT Corporation has a need for an experienced safety and health professional. The Director Safety is responsible for the continuous development and implementation of the company's safety policies and procedures and for fostering safety leadership within the company. The position is ultimately responsible for supporting the business units in establishing and maintaining an effective workplace safety culture. The primary challenge is to continually improve awareness, knowledge and preparedness across EQT to create a superior safety performance culture and effective safety practices. Position provides overall leadership, professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and management of health and safety processes, including regulatory agency compliance, institutional policies, human capital development and contractor safety programs.
The Director Safety responsibilities include but are not limited to: Developing and providing technical and administrative direction on all safety and health policies and programs. Partnering with operations to create a work environment which reflects a commitment to protecting the health and safety of employees. provide safety and health training to operations. Reviewing internal safety policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate; conducting hazard and risk assessments. develop new or, where necessary, making recommendations to senior management to amend safety policies and procedures. Directing and enforcing compliance with all OSHA and DOT safety and health regulations pertaining to company operations, including changes to regulations. Providing regular written reports, as well as other production-related results and updates to the senior management team as required. Conducting (or coordinating) on-site safety and health training, reviews and audits of operations for all locations. Developing effective contractor safety processes. Worker's health as it relates to industrial hygiene problems.
Required Experience and Skills: Bachelor's degree 10+ years of progressive safety experience with 7+ years of safety management experience.
Preferred Experience and Skills: Oil and gas experience. Six Sigma or similar quality process experience. Experience in managing contractor safety programs.
