Southern Peaks Regional Treatment Center Mental Health Worker in Canon City, Colorado

We are hiring Mental Health Workers to join our specialized program at Southern Peaks Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) in Canon City, Colorado.

As a Mental Health Worker, you will be part of a team providing medically necessary mental health treatment services to children and adolescents experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric problems. In this position, you will provide direct client supervision to those clients with chronic or acute mental disorders who require active treatment.

Salary Range: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour

Shift: Hiring for multiple shifts

Provide direct supervision of clients and interacts therapeutically.

Evaluate client's behavioral and emotional issues.

Interact with and supervise clients during daily activities in a manner that ensures their safety and security.

Provide effective facility security including conducting headcounts, room checks, and observing client movement.

Observe client behavior and intervenes appropriately.

Demonstrate appropriate use of client intervention skills and Safe Crisis Management (SCM) techniques; monitors client interventions and provides guidance to other employees as necessary.

Facilitate and document various groups or meetings; monitors the documentation process to ensure all services are documented as necessary each shift.

What We'd Like for You to Have:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited program required; degree in an area of human services preferred.

Non-communicable diseases physical exam.

Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

Ability to work overtime as required.

Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks; including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.

Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
