Amergis Certified Addiction Specialist in Canon City, Colorado
Salary: $52 / hour
Travel Pay available upon request
The Certified Addiction Specialist provides drug and alcohol consultation to patients; along with individual and group therapy. The Certified Addiction Specialist also provides crisis intervention and assists with behavioral health needs and issues including mental illness, developmental disabilities, addition, etc.
Shift: Days, Monday through Friday, 8 or 10 hour shifts available
Hours: 40 hour / week
Length: 26 weeks (high likelihood of extension)
Notes: Must have active Certified Addiction Specialist license in Colorado
Location: Canon City, CO, Sterling, CO or Denver, CO
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides health assessments
Assists with analyzing of patient health needs and establishes applicable treatment plans
Provide individual and group treatment
Consult unit staff in regard to diagnosis and treatment planning
Provides crisis intervention to align with clinical standards
Assigns patients to special programs and / or placements to meet health needs
Provide proper clinical documentation
Communicates to advise, counsel and / or guide clinical staff
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Current Certified Addiction Counselor license or Licensed Addiction Counselor in the state of Colorado
Experience in behavioral health guidelines, to include behavioral health assessments, individual and group therapy, clinical management of patients with mental illness and / or substance abuse issues preferred
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
