Information Technology Strategies Automation Tester in Camp Springs, Maryland
Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Automation Tester to work for our company.
Summary:
Client Agency is DHS
Must be able to pass DHS Background check (Basic eligibility requirements include: U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history, no recent or pending bankruptcies).
Will design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Appium, and JUnit to ensure comprehensive testing of web and mobile applications.
Will build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, TestNG) to streamline testing processes across diverse environments.
Will integrate automated test scripts into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps for efficient and reliable deployment cycles.
Will collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA engineers to review requirements and technical designs, ensuring accurate testing coverage.
Will identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
Will utilize tools such as SonarQube and JaCoCo to analyze code quality and coverage, driving improvements in stability and reliability.
Will develop and maintain realistic test data to reflect real-world scenarios, collaborating with development and data teams.
Will conduct performance and load testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner to evaluate application scalability and responsiveness.
Will document test cases, execution results, and overall outcomes, providing insights to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Must be able to pass DHS Background check (Basic eligibility requirements include: U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history, no recent or pending bankruptcies).
A bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or Robot Framework.
Hands-on experience with Java, Python, or JavaScript for developing automated scripts.
Previous experience with BDD/TDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow).
Previous experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or BlazeMeter.
Previous experience managing multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in Agile environments.
Previous experience working within Agile development environments and participating in ceremonies like sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
Must be willing and able to attend on-site meetings in Camp Springs, MD on an as needed basis.
Must be willing and able to participate in a code challenge and orals presentation.
Preferences:
ISTQB or equivalent certification in Software Testing.
3+ years of experience in test automation, including developing test scripts and frameworks.
Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and associated cloud testing frameworks.
Experience with version control tools such as Git.
An understanding of RESTful API testing using tools like Postman or RestAssured.
Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and related testing considerations.
Experience with security testing and best practices for secure applications.
