DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Food Service Manager 1, you will be directly responsible for assisting the Corrections Food Service Manager 2 with planning, organizing, and directing a complete large-scale food service operation.  You will manage food preparation, production, and serving, and ensure that all duties are conducted in adherence to sanitation guidelines and regulations.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are vital, as you will provide oversight and direction to staff including corrections food service supervisors, instructors, and inmate workers.  You will also be responsible for developing and modifying menus and managing the food service operation budget.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours/week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Corrections Food Service Supervisor; or Four years of paraprofessional experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation, which includes one year of supervisory experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of supervisory experience in food preparation, production, or service.

Necessary Special Requirement: You must possess an active Food Manager Certification issued by an approved provider.

Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
