U.S. Army Sustainment Command Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait

Summary About the Position: This position is located in the US Army, Sustainment Command, 401st Army Field Support Brigade, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION/RETENTION INCENTIVE may be requested through management and may be authorized up to 25% of base salary per year to be paid bi-weekly. Please limit your resume to 5 pages. If more than 5 pages are submitted, only the first 5 pages will be reviewed to determine your eligibility/qualifications. Responsibilities Incumbent serves as the Civilian Deputy to the Commander. Incumbent directs, researches, assesses and evaluates the readiness posture of Army Sustainment Command. Incumbent determines the need for and directs in-depth field evaluations of logistics situations that adversely affect readiness. Incumbent exercises personnel management and establishes work priorities/taskings to civilian and military personnel assigned/attached to the battalion. Incumbent gives advice, counsels, or instructs individuals regarding technical work and administrative matters. Incumbent coordinates and supervises the development and implementation of logistics plans and policies to establish a compatible interface with Army Sustainment Command. Incumbent plans and manages Battalion activities within overall program objectives and policies prescribed in the area of logistics. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1 ) Coordinating with staff and leadership to perform logistics operations services and support, assessing readiness posture of major commands.2) Evaluating logistical and procurement program execution and identifying ways to improve processes and procedures. AND 3) Performing a full range of supervisory functions including planning work to be accomplished by subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Managing Human Resources Organizational Awareness Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Direct deposit of pay is required. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. Employees who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250. For positions in a foreign country, that country's laws or international agreements may have a direct impact on the ability of an employee's same sex domestic partner or spouse to accompany the employee and receive certain benefits. This is a Career Program (CP) 17 - Logistics Management position. The initial length of this overseas tour is 13 months unaccompanied. Defense National Relocation Program will not be authorized.
