How you will make history here... In this role, as a Scientist II, an integral member of the Regulatory Affairs team, you will assist in ensuring all Campbell products comply with applicable food labeling regulations with a focus on foundational ingredients. As a member of the Regulatory Affairs team, you will provide information on regulatory requirements to key internal and external functional customers across the Enterprise. Core to this role will be the review/approval of documentation from ingredient vendors for regulatory compliance, review/approval of complex flavors and ingredients from our internal plants and core partners, define and execute requirements and enhancements to support digitization and enterprise ingredient metrics and business processes. You will be responsible for ingredient and complex flavor formula set-up, maintenance and approval providing the foundation for finished product label creation and data integrity. The successful candidate will also actively engage with external vendors, trade associations, and applicable government agencies as needed. What you will do... Review and provide regulatory decisions for vendor raw material specifications regarding regulatory and 3rd party certification requirements, sub-components, functionality, allergens, and nutrition. Collaborate with cross-functional partners including PD, Procurement, Quality and Legal. Manage set-up and approval of ingredient specifications using Campbell's formula management system (Optiva) per project requests across the enterprise. Create common name and component breakout for ingredients per applicable food labeling regulations utilizing standardized enterprise approach, and set-up supporting documentation for regulatory parameters including 3rd party certifications, allergens, and nutrition within Campbell's formula management system (Optiva). Maintain documentation to preserve integrity of data to substantiate labeling with regulatory agencies. Provide regulatory guidance to business partners on routine regulatory issues pertaining to ingredients, with little or no oversight during daily operations. Manage label content documentation, technical data sheets and applicable 3rd party certifications for internal/external flavor formulations using Campbell's formula management system (Optiva) including ingredient statement, net weight statement, naming/standard of identity, allergen content and nutrition.
