This role requires a deep understanding of AWS services and best practices for disaster recovery and resiliency. Key Responsibilities will include: * Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and procedures. * Design and implement AWS-based disaster recovery solutions, including backup and restore, failover, and failback strategies. * Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify critical systems and processes. * Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure disaster recovery plans align with business objectives and compliance requirements. * Perform regular disaster recovery testing and drills to validate the effectiveness of recovery plans. * Monitor and manage AWS infrastructure to ensure high availability and resilience. * Provide training and support to staff on disaster recovery procedures and best practices. * Understanding of SAAS Disaster Recovery configurations and testing. * Stay current with AWS advancements and industry trends to continuously improve disaster recovery strategies.#LI-JS1Key Accountabilities * Disaster Recovery monitoring Duties - 10% Monitor the status of the systems for resiliency across the American Water environment. These could be metrics or notifications from AWS or various SAAS Vendors to ensure the reliability and resiliency status of American Water Systems in near real time. * Policies, Procedures, and Standards - 30% Drive the enhancement and reconfiguration of Disaster Recovery and Resiliency standards, procedures, and policies. American Water is undergoing a large technology platform shift and this role will be pivotal in creating Disaster Recovery and resiliency plans for the future of the American Water technology environment. * Technical Requirements and Design - 35% Act as a technology direction lead in disaster recovery and resiliency and provide detailed information and advice as necessary in that specialization in order to achieve business outcomes.
