Subaru of America Connected Future Product Planning Analyst in Camden, New Jersey

SUMMARY

Supports the planning of Subaru’s future connected vehicle technology (Digital Cockpit, V2X, V2V, FAAS, OTA) across the Subaru product portfolio. Supports the formulation of connected vehicle product proposals and requests with documentation, market research, metrics, data analytics, trend analysis, and pricing models. Assists the Future Product Planning team within various points of the upstream product planning processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts research on industry and market trends in the connected vehicle technology automotive space.

  • Analyzes research to determine the value of products in terms of market needs, benefits, and profit.

  • Streamlines information, summarizes findings, and develops clear and compelling planning presentation decks tailored to various audience members.

  • Develops pricing models and business cases for future products and features.

  • Collaborates with cross-teams (including IT, Product Management, Accounting, Marketing. Operations, and Service) to ensure that Connected Vehicle Business requests are aligned and supported for all Subaru of America (SOA) initiatives and business priorities.

  • Collates information and authors and maintains detailed product and feature business requirement documents (BRDs) for submission to Subaru Corporation (SBR). Serves as the day-to-day contact for the teams on clarification of product requests and requirements. Organizes changes and documents version control processes.

  • Supports the facilitation of customer research studies including user clinics, focus groups, and surveys.

  • Analyzes Subaru’s connected vehicle product portfolio vs competitors.

  • Coordinates partner/supplier engagements and product demos.

  • Participates in-vehicle Graphical User Interface (GUI)/Human Machine Interface (HMI) design planning discussions and review workshops.

  • Participates in product evaluation and benchmarking activities for U.S. automotive market research. Orchestrates vehicle rentals for hands-on exploratory research.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizes and schedules the Connected Business Planning group’s attendance to industry conferences and events.

  • Support the day-to-day operations for Connected Future Product Planning and Business Development.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Intermediate ability to analyze and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data for product proposals and recommendations.

  • Ability to explain product requirements and information in easy-to-understand business terms and communicate ideas and information in a manner appropriate to different audiences and levels in the organization.

  • Strong business acumen with intermediate experience at building product pricing models, Return on Investment (ROI) calculations, and business cases.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate and communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders including our Japanese counterparts and global partners.

  • Proven ability to build relationships across business units and facilitate consensus-building.

  • Strong workflow management skills including time management, prioritization, and project planning.

  • Strong ability to collaborate with the team while maintaining the ability to work independently.

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as individually.

  • Knowledge, interest, and passion for the automotive industry and awareness of the competitive landscape.

  • Experience working in collaborative teams to drive toward a long-term project result.

  • Prior experience with connected vehicle technology preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A 4-year college degree (BA/BS) and at least 4-6 years of experience in sales, marketing, or retailer operations is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Required Travel: 20%

COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $68000- $96900 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
