Pride Bodies Ltd., a Wabtec Company in Cambridge, Ontario, offers custom design and truck-body manufacturing and upfitting of utility, service, construction, railway and other custom truck bodies. Our environmentally-friendly truck bodies are researched, designed and customized to our customers’ satisfaction.

Who will you be working with?

As a member of the team at Pride Bodies Ltd., you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Assemblers. You will also work daily with other Supervisors/Production Manager to support our customers and their requirements.

  • Achieve production results by communicating job expectations; planning, assigning personnel, appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and holding team members accountable for results;

  • Be a team player and solution provider; communicate and collaborate with cross-functional areas (Engineering, Purchasing, Production).

What do we want to know about you?

  • High School diploma required;

  • Relevant training and certification in industrial production or any related field;

  • Previous experience in a production supervisory role;

  • Able to read blue-print drawings and interpret them;

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills are essential;

  • Knowledge resource for other team members. Experienced in electrical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic applications;

  • Knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment;

  • Excellent organization, communication, leadership and interpersonal skills;

  • A strong work ethic;

  • Ability to create and adhere to production processes; Ability to read and interpret blue-print drawings;

  • Good reasoning ability to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagrammatic form;

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and conflict-resolution skills;

  • Proficiency in MS Office an asset.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Monitor daily attendance and vacation schedules;

  • Motivate employees to achieve production goals and targets;

  • Assign, plan, monitor and problem solve production processes to meet efficiencies; attend meetings and provide detailed information about the daily production issues to management team;

  • Educate employees about the Company’s established policies, procedures and product quality levels and ensure conformance to them;

  • Organize training and educational manuals for the production team;

  • Write reports legibly and accurately;

  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires;

  • Communicate and co-operate with other department supervisors; Fill in and replace where needed due to production requirements;

  • Be available for overtime as required to meet production schedules;

  • You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Safety glasses, steel-toed safety shoes and hearing protection must be worn for the entirety of the shift.
