SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products. Functions performed may include determining the machines, equipment, tools, and the sequence of operations necessary to perform production and assembly operations; recommending the design of production machines and other plant equipment; and advising and assisting vendors with design problems about tools, gauges and equipment designed for use in manufacturing. Utilize troubleshooting methodology to identify root cause and apply appropriate corrective action to mitigate issue. Provide electrical/ controls guidance to manufacturing engineers in the selection and procurement of electrical instruments. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Develop and maintain the plants manufacturing control and data acquisition systems. Develop and integrate operator interfaces between manufacturing systems and users. Support and troubleshoot issues with control systems including PLC programming, interface systems, and PC controlled systems. Revise equipment programs as necessary to support manufacturing process improvements. Develops the planned maintenance of all manufacturing electrical infrastructure. Train designated personnel in the operation and maintenance of programmable logic controllers and manufacturing networks. Manage Projects from: Prepare appropriation requests for the specification and purchase of new equipment and systems. Develops budget(s) and timelines Facilitates cross functional work teams Prepare TS16949 compliant instructions and necessary documentation. Function as the liaison with manufacturing engineering on all equipment control and motion issues Performs other duties as directed. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering Technology field EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Five years' experience in manufacturing or product engineering. Experience working with Allen Bradley, PLCs, HMIs, and RSLogix software Experience with programming and troubleshooting servo systems Experience with Robot interface (Motoman preferred) Knowledge and experience with National Instrument Labview Knowledge of vision systems, Cognex and Keyence preferred Demonstrates ability to manage a project(s) from conception through completion.
