    Job Description

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Mechanical Engineering (MechE), to join a multidisciplinary group of researchers and staff focused on the development of technologies supporting cell therapies. The expansion, differentiation, and maintenance of stem cells and stem-cell-derived cells are crucial to this work. The field is challenging, multifaceted, and multidisciplinary, and provides a broad overview of current state-of-the-art translational research. Responsibilities include cell culture, expansion, and differentiation; performing assays to characterize cell viability, functionality, and maturity (skill sets including qRT-PCR, immunohistochemical staining, FACS); data analysis and interpretation; accurate recording and maintenance of procedures and results; ordering reagents to conduct experiments; working with postdoctoral associates, technicians, and undergraduate students; analyzing and documenting experimental protocols; laboratory upkeep; and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: B.S./B.A. in biological science (e.g., biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field); at least two years’ specialized lab experience (may include experience acquired as an undergraduate), with experience in pluripotent stem cell culture; commitment to producing accurate and high-quality protocols and data; ability to independently manage time and properly prioritize own work to meet deadlines; awareness of basic lab safety and ability to maintain a safe work environment; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and willingness to learn new scientific tools and techniques quickly.
