As Category Buyer External Manufacturing within our Procurement Large Molecules Team, you'll lead sourcing of goods and services within the Global EM perimeter. Executes and implements contracts/agreements in perimeter. Develops, implements, executes and optimizes sourcing strategies in support of M&S EM based on supplier, technology and market intelligence respecting global category management guidance. Main Responsibilities:
Strategy
Conduct supplier and technology market analysis with specific benchmarking reviews as required; Share the global supplier market expertise in Sanofi
Contribute to the Sanofi Procurement sourcing team and Business Partners (lead specifiers) to build innovative category and/or sub-category strategies that have measurable benefit for Sanofi
Anticipate and consolidate all business needs to develop action plans, execute negotiations and facilitate implementation specific to category and/or sub-category
Ensures good execution of any category sourcing plan in line with global strategy and regional/country needs
Deliver world class total savings objectives
Ensure procurement technical excellence (TCO, SRM, Market Intel, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality…) at his/her perimeter
As per mandate of management, manage Business Reviews with identified key suppliers
Operational
Scope is on global level and includes multiple M&S sites/entities globally
Travel between sites and or vendors will be necessary at some interval
Accountable for optimizing purchasing of goods and services within Global EM to meet the needs of internal customers, in compliance with the purchasing/sourcing orientations and company procedures
Develop reports, activity dashboards, maintain standard costs and relevant KPIs to monitor and manage activities
Provide information and support for Controlling reporting activities per respective categories
Provide to procurement network: Market trends, share budget assumptions and LRP
Support annual budget, PPV and PO processes.
Drive the development of new market opportunities (new suppliers, technologies, substitution products, etc.)
Lead and conduct RFP process utilizing e-sourcing tool
Drive the negotiations with suppliers under his/her perimeter
As assigned, lead a S.R.M. program at his/her perimeter
Utilize Lean Concept to drive the resolution of issues and improve supplier performance
Provide support to Sanofi’s DPO objectives with suppliers in the category.
Where applicable, be accountable on achieving Inventory targets (shared with Supply Chain function)
Business Partnering
Ensure proper BP at global/regional level, with global/regional IA stakeholders, as it pertains to Outsourcing
Act as Procurement focal point for pre-defined subjects and as a facilitator for the purchasing function
Ensure consistency, communication and integration within the M&S, Business and Procurement network as it pertains to Global EM
Actively support business partnering activities in collaboration with Procurement peers
Develop and maintain strong interfaces with P2P, Finance, Legal and all other relevant teams
Category Management
Ensure the operational sourcing & action plan is followed for his/her perimeter (composed of different spend families) is fully aligned with category management strategy/orientation
Support management and peers, provides advice and/or participates in strategic negotiations according to needs
Procurement Risk Management, Compliance, Ethics and CSR
Ensure Procurement skills are robust & current via Procurement Academy and other ad hoc offerings
Take part in regular training sessions to audits requirements
Compliance sanity checks
Pre & Post Audit management

About You
Education & Experience:
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree. No certifications required.
Excellent command of both written and spoken English required.
Minimum years of experience: 7+ Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Quality or related Pharmaceutical industry discipline. Leadership experience desirable.
Experience preferred within Drug substance and/or Drug Product
Procurement and/or international experience preferred.
Technical Skills Requirements:
Preferred demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures
Analytical and negotiation skills and techniques
Management skills in assessing business issues
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams locally and in international network
Basic understanding of ERP systems (i.e. SAP) and financial practices
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project Management
