The GTMC organization will help us to drive best-in-class capabilities across the board and bring value and excellence in our commercial operations. This move is a key part of the aimed modernization of Sanofi and will allow us to focus on our priorities across our products, market and pipeline through the reallocation of resources and realizing the efficiencies of removing silos that exist between our business units, avoiding the duplication and overlapping of resources, standardizing our processes and tools, operating with a One Sanofi approach to accelerate our key capabilities development, and fostering the entrepreneurial spirit by speeding up the decision making.

The Associate Director, Events Systems reports to the Director Field Engagement who manages a team that manages for Sanofi North America’s speaker programs across General Medicines, Vaccines and Specialty Care. This position will work closely with Senior Sales management, compliance, quality, audit and digital to effectively provide the necessary support to their sales teams via the field systems. Critical to this role is enabling these activities in a seamless manner while supporting our organizational objectives around compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

The Primary Mission of the Field Engagements team is as follows:

  • Provide support and drive the annual processes of speaker contract on-boarding and Veeva events go live for the following year.

  • Work closely with the Sanofi therapeutic areas across the annual life cycle of promotional events

  • Budget planning

  • Speaker nomination and contracting

  • Speaker and Sanofi field employee training

  • Reporting and analysis

  • Provide support for the promotional programs system including knowledge of the key integration points and dependencies including HR data, transparency, customer master, finance, etc.

  • Collaborate with marketing and sales leads and the logistics vendor to create innovative programming and process and cost efficiencies

  • Develop the metrics and reporting environments with Commercial Operations colleagues for sales and marketing

  • Collaborate with business operations, and business integrity colleagues when necessary

  • Be a subject matter expert in all things related to Promotional Events including but not limited to

  • Promotional Event management systems (e.g. Veeva/Salesforce.com, reporting platforms etc.…)

  • Company policies and procedures

  • Event and speaker portal electronic systems

  • Speaker contracting and on-boarding

  • Speaker and Sanofi field training

  • Field manager support, development and sharing of best practices

The Events Systems Associate Director primary responsibilities include the following

  • Business product owner for Veeva Events Management (VEM) module – advanced knowledge of the key integration points and dependencies including HR data, transparency, customer master, finance, etc.

  • Primary contact with logistics vendor for all system related escalations including development of remediation and testing plan.

  • Develops strategic direction including a comprehensive roadmap for Veeva Events to senior leadership – overall project management lead for process improvements, system enhancements, industry benchmarking initiatives.

  • Collaborate with digital, omnichannel, marketing and sales for integrations with product or disease state websites related to event promotion and registration.

  • Oversees all promotional event data ensuring compliance and quality assurance monitoring, tracking, and reporting.

  • Leads in the selection and implementation of new systems and system enhancements including the following:

  • Requirements gathering

  • Testing

  • System documentation

  • Change management and communication

  • Liaison between business operations, digital, transparency and compliance to ensure data is validated and practices are compliant in all aspects of promotional programs.

  • Partners closely with IT to ensure successful implementation/development of technology enhancements. Utilizes SAFe®/Agile methods for development efforts.

  • Oversee and Manages project plans for program changes. Responsible for enhancements and new event programs, which includes defining program critical success factors, process flows, KPIs, SOPs, change management, training.

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 5-7+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams or other relevant experience.

  • 5+ years CRM/events management system experience required; Veeva Events Module preferred.

  • 3+ years Project Management experience, preferably related to Events systems.

  • Extensive understanding of Pharma Guidelines, Sunshine Act and Transparency requirements.

  • Proven ability and experience in influencing without authority

  • Demonstrable experience collaborating effectively in a commercial pharmaceutical or equivalent organization

  • Superior organizational skills

  • Demonstrable excellence in verbal and written communication at all levels of the organization

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Salesforce.com, Veeva, QlikSense or the equivalence

  • Strong analytical capabilities and familiarity investigating complex data sets

  • Flexible, able to adapt to changing business priorities

  • Attention to detail and capable of asking insightful questions

  • Ability to multitask and deliver results within timelines

  • Strong interpersonal skills; and ability to train and coach others

  • Must be able to work well independently as well as part of a broader team

  • Strong sense of urgency, personal commitment and ownership over work

Preferred

  • Direct experience working with Sales and marketing in a pharma or Biotech

  • 4+ years recent Pharma industry experience in speaker’s bureau, events management, program management role.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn, master and teach complex systems and concepts.

  • Conversant with Veeva, Qlik, SmartSheets and Power BI

  • Demonstrable Project Management success
