Assistant Vice President – Captive & Insurance Management (Cayman Islands)
Aon Insurance Managers (AIM) in Cayman are actively seeking an experienced AVP to join their expanding team!
The AVP will conduct the final review of direct report working papers and support the team with any client or technical issues that arise.
The AVP will be a key relationship lead on captive insurance accounts and will have strong relationships with clients, representatives, and regulatory agencies. The Assistant Vice President is responsible for supervising and mentoring junior team members, providing constructive feedback, assisting with objectives/goal setting, and supporting career development initiatives.

What the day will look like
Primary responsibility for the captive accounting function and conducting the final review of financial statements prepared by the team
Act as relationship manager and liaison between client and captive service team
Drive business development strategies, manage prospective opportunities and monitor competitor strategies
Analyse and approve complex financial transactions
Prepare board meeting materials and deliver impactful presentations of financial and other relevant information to key stakeholders
Responsible for distributing work allocations and coordinating the workload of the team
Drive operational excellence within the team and recommend improvements where needed
Develop policies and procedures
As a senior leader, oversee the financial audit process
Responsible for upholding compliance and regulatory obligations ensuring applications and filings are submitted on time
Manage and build relationships with regulatory agencies and clients
Deliver a high level of client service
Participate and lead team in driving projects to completion
Supervision Responsibilities
- The AVP is responsible for supervision and training of a team of AMs and SAMs. The AVP will participate in the annual review process for their direct reports, providing feedback, goal setting and supporting development initiatives
Skills and experience that will lead to success
An internationally recognized professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA / ACA is essential
Previous accounting experience, preferably in captive insurance/reinsurance management or audit – essential
Previous client facing exposure at board of directors level – essential
Previous supervisory experience is required.

The salary range for this position is USD $115,000 to USD $130,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
