The Position and Job Summary
Organizes and manages workflow for assigned supervisor providing administrative support. Reviews incoming mail, calls, and requests, directs as appropriate. Maintains the unit's calendar and schedules related to outreach events and activities. Coordinates the department's activities arrangements, as requested.
Acts as support for the unit for completion of a variety of organizational activities; creates and composes reports, memos, graphs, databases and e-mails using a variety of computer resources i.e. MS Office, SANDIS, etc. May attend meetings to complete notetaking during department's presentations, assignments/activities, as required.
Maintains oversight and tracks various unit projects, including compiling necessary data for projects and ensures that deadlines are met. Prepares technical documents, e. spreadsheets, databases and any other types of complex reports.
Works independently and within a team on special and ongoing projects. May act as a project leader for special projects, which may include, but not limited to planning, coordinating, and organizing activities, as needed.
Designs, organizes, and maintains the unit's recordkeeping system.
Coordinates, schedules, and facilitates internal and external meetings, presentations, appointments, etc.
Provides back-up support for other administrative staff, as needed.
May provide verbal and/or written translation services, as appropriate.
Compensation
This position is a non-exempt. Regular Salary: $28.06 – $30.98
Education & Experience
High school graduation
Four years of related experience or training
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and Abilities
Advanced administrative office practices and procedures.
Must have a high level of customer service and interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential employee issues. Must continually demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.
Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization and the community.
Must have intermediate to expert knowledge of a variety of software applications, MS Office – Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and other types of databases e. SANDIS
Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofreading materials.
Establish priorities and meet deadlines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to multi-task and handle multiple competing tasks and projects.
Bilingual Spanish required.
Essential Requirements
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation, or acceptable substitute, required.

North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974.
