BAE Systems SCA Electronic Technician I in California, Maryland
Job Description
The selected candidate will aid a production team producing multiple new AN/UPX-24(V) Interrogator Sets that conduct ship board Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) for SCN and FMS builds. Work will take place in a production facility in Wildwood MD, building cable, assembling components and integrating system sets using drawings, wire lists (WL), manufacturing procedures (MP) and standard operating procedures (SOP).
In this role, you will be responsible for the following activities:
Read and interpret technical drawings for fabrication and installation of cable assemblies, components, and system integration.
Fabricate a variety of cable assemblies to include multi-conductor, coaxial, and power cables in accordance with military and DOD standards.
Assemble system level components in accordance with military and DOD standards.
Solder components to printed circuit boards (PCB) including through-hole solder components and surface mount components.
Use of calibrated equipment to validate harnesses, incoming parts, assemblies, and integrated systems.
Work with Technicians, Quality Control, Engineering, Drafting and Project Managers to provide feedback and resolve issues that are focused on maintaining high production quality.
Document defects and report to project lead for resolution.
Daily use of computers and software to record man hours, retrieve drawings/datasheets, request parts, and document defects.
All tools to complete tasking are provided and personal tools are not required.
Candidate will travel >10% of the time to assist with testing events as required. Tasking may require extended hours and weekend work to support Environmental Stress Screening events. Tasking may require a shift in work schedule to facilitate troubleshooting and defect isolation to not impact project build schedule.
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept. of Labor and is not negotiable. The current rate is $26.27/ hr.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High school diploma and at least one year of experience in the electronics field or completion of vocational training
Mechanical aptitude and experience with a wide range of hand and power tools
Ability to pass BAE Systems solder and cable certification class (must be able to differentiate colors)
Ability to frequently work in a sitting, standing, and other various working positions
Ability to occasionally lift and carry 45 pounds
Ability to work with hazardous material
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. state driver's/operator's license or permit
Basic operational skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook and Excel

Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
