Calhan Housing Authority/Silvercrest Villas Assistant Maintenance Technician, General in Calhan, Colorado
Job Description: Perform work involving general building and grounds maintenance and repair. Duties may involve, but are not limited to, minor carpentry; basic plumbing; painting; cleaning; repairing or electrical equipment; and lite snow removal. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and he will assign your duty schedule, work orders will come from the Apartment Manager.
Detailed Work Activities: -Assist with door installation, vinyl floor repair, window frame caulking, or trim repair. -Repair or replacement of locks, hinges, and related hardware. -Assemble, install, or repair plumbing fixtures and related parts. -Paint walls or other interior and exterior surfaces as needed. -Repair/replace electrical fixtures or components as required. -Maintain and/or repair tools & equipment to manufacturers specifications. -General cleaning of apartment units, shop, and club house (main building) as required. -General grounds maintenance to include mowing touch-up, edging, trimming, sprinkler system maintenance, dog run, flower gardens, porches, etc.. -Assisting with snow removal touch-up at the end of a storm; this touch-up includes walkways, porches, emergency drive ways, parking lots, and an egreson the back deck. -Other duties as assigned by the Apartment Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor.
Tasks include: -Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. -Assist with the repair of mechanical, plumbing, and equipment. -Order parts, supplies, equipment as directed.
A basic knowledge of the following is required: -Care and maintenance of residential apartment buildings. -Knowledge and use of both hand and power tools, ranging from hammer, hoists, saws, power drills, and hand wrenches.
