Aston Carter Tax Analyst in Calgary, Alberta
Aston Carter's large client is seeking a Tax Analyst to join their team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This individual will be responsible for preparing Canadian and US indirect tax returns and property tax submissions along with assisting in the preparation the Canadian and US income tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Indirect Tax Compliance:
Prepare sales tax and property tax returns for the Canadian and US business units
Work with internal stakeholders to properly set up sales tax accounts to meet business needs
Sales tax research and assist with tax inquiries from internal stakeholders
Income Tax Compliance:
Assist in the preparation of annual Canadian income tax compliance including:
Assist with the preparation of responses to federal, and provincial income tax audits
Correspond with various Canadian tax authorities
Prepare monthly and quarterly tax provisions
Refine and improve data collection processes to support tax return filings
Research and respond to tax claim questions for ERP
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must Haves:
3 years’ experience in accounting with a focus in tax
Strong computer and data analysis skills
Intermediate Excel experience
Indirect tax experience
Nice to Have:
SAP Business One and/or Oracle NetSuite experience
US Tax experience
CPA, CFA designation
Experience Level
