Job Description

AECOM Calgary is hiring a Senior Transportation Engineer, PEng - LRT, Highways.

This position will be responsible for leadership and design coordination while supporting the development of junior and intermediate staff.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Planning, organizing, coordinating, and working with technical disciplines and the project management team

  • Leading a cross-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians to ensure deliverable completion on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction

  • Managing design integration and interdisciplinary review activities amongst Civil disciplines and with Systems and Facilities disciplines

  • Coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and project team members to ensure project goals and objectives are met

  • Provide technical and coordination mentoring to junior and intermediate staff

  • Being accountable for compliance with internal performance metrics coordinating with other engineering disciplines managing project staff and subconsultants to keep projects on budget and schedule and within agreed upon scope

  • Interacting with clients on a regular basis, chairing civil technical working group meetings

  • Maintaining industry knowledge of current standards and procedures

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering

  • Registered Professional Engineer in good standing in Alberta (P.Eng.) or eligible

  • 8+ years of industry experience in the transit, or other transportation sector

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years experience in the transit, or other transportation sector

  • Experience overseeing design of linear transportation infrastructure such as highways, urban roadways, and LRT

  • Knowledge and understanding of industry procurement models

  • Must be familiar with relevant industry standards and design criteria

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to build and harbor good working relationships with our business partners, suppliers, contractors, and clients

  • Ability to work in a team environment

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $125,000.00 - $180,000.00.
